Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in biology from North Carolina State University. She earned a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Colorado: Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora. Emily has been working as a physician assistant for the last six years. Her clinical interests include obstetrics and contraception counseling. Emily chose to go into the OB/Gyn field for the opportunity to develop long-term relationships with patients that will continue through each stage of their life, while also empowering women to make informed decisions about their body. “I believe in approaching every patient with empathy and compassion, and strive to create a collaborative environment where women feel comfortable—whether it is discussing their health, their pregnancy or receiving their annual exams.” In addition, she has earned the Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP) credential from The Menopause Society, the nation's leading independent organization dedicated to menopause care and research. This designation recognizes her advanced knowledge in managing the full spectrum of menopausal health, including hormonal and non-hormonal treatment options, and her dedication to providing the highest standard of evidence-based care for women navigating this important transition. When not visiting with her patients, Emily spends her free time with her daughter, partner and cat. She is a Colorado Rapids soccer fan, enjoys art and live music and is on a hunt for the best local food in Colorado.
